Report: Two Drunken American Tourists Spend Night in Eiffel Tower Following Bizarre Incident

According to information provided by authorities in Paris, Two Drunken American tourists reportedly spent a night within the Eiffel Tower due to their intoxicated state. The iconic landmark, operated by Société d’Exploitation de la Tour Eiffel (SETE), saw security guards discovering the individuals before the tower’s scheduled opening time on Monday morning.

Allegedly, the tourists purchased tickets on Sunday evening around 10:40 p.m. and subsequently breached security barriers while descending the tower’s staircase from its top viewing platform situated at a height of 905 feet. The men found themselves within an area not accessible to the public, located between the second and third levels of the tower.

Officials from SETE conveyed that the individuals appeared to have become stranded due to their excessive inebriation, as reported by Paris prosecutors. Specialized firefighters were dispatched to safely retrieve the men with assistance from a specialized unit.

Although SETE stated that the men did not seem to pose a tangible threat, the organization intends to file a criminal complaint in relation to the incident. The occurrence led to a delay of approximately an hour in the tower’s opening on Monday morning.

This event transpired merely days after a separate incident that prompted the evacuation of the Eiffel Tower due to an unsubstantiated bomb threat. The false alarm caused a temporary disruption, and French authorities swiftly confirmed that the site was safe for visitors.

Notably, this is not the first time the Eiffel Tower has been associated with concerning incidents. Earlier, Brazilian tourists reportedly encountered distressing circumstances at the landmark, with one sister allegedly experiencing a sexual assault. The Mayor of the Seventh Arrondissement, Rachida Dati, highlighted the challenges related to the safety of the Champ de Mars area, where the Eiffel Tower is situated.

It is understood that such unfortunate incidents have raised concerns about security measures and the overall safety of visitors to the iconic French landmark.
